東川口,埼玉県　may be dubbed the "New Jersey of Japan" by some, but it's 「アンジェリカ」という　bakery (just 2 minutes from my dorm!) cannot be beat. Crispy on the outside-- delicious spicy curry with generous chunks of beef on the inside. Kick's Shimokitazawa's curry bread's sorry little ass :P

Vivienne Westwood Venus Worship

Okay so some of these were not actually bought in Japan... I ordered them online =P. Why? Because Japan is a rip-off it when it comes to Vivienne Westwood (and a lot of other) stuff, therefore it is actually better for me to order it from England where the prices are cheaper, the shipping is usually free and fast, and I get a 10% discount for being a member of the official VW retail sites.

Tokyo Decadence!!!

Okay, so needless to say I failed miserably in my quest to blog on a daily basis while in Tokyo. In fact I haven't blogged once in the over 2 months now that I've been in Japan, so shame on me... I will give my blog the love and attention it deserves from now on >_O;;;

I think one of my biggest obstacles was I really wanted to find a way to document just about everything, and since that task seemed nearly impossible to do without sacrificing loads and loads of my (precious) time, I shied away from the challenge and couldn't find an efficient 方法. I also think I secretly wanted to avoid making just another generic blog about fashion and makeup...because I can't stand most blogs written by girls about fashion and makeup...because I think most of them suck,　実は。 =( But that's all the more reason why I need to do it right? Because mine will show the rest of them how it's done, CHYEAH.

Yeah so in any case... Perhaps I should just stop trying to avoid my fate and embrace/own it. So lo and behold, ほら、this blog is officially 始まる with the cliche of all cliche blog topics-- 買い物(as evidenced by the title of the post).

If you know me well--or actually you don't even have to know me that well to get this point-- you know that back in the states, and especially during times of impending crisis (i.e. midterms) I sometimes (keyword!!!) have a habit of buying a lot a lot of stuff. So you can imagine how this habit would be exacerbated in Asia, let alone Japan, let alone TOKYO.
But in my own defense, I would like to staunchly assert that I don't impulse shop at all! I might buy a lot, I might buy expensive, but I do LOTS and lots of research/price comparison, and compared to most people my satisfaction level with my purchases is much higher. For instance, most of my clothes I will love and keep forever because I don't follow trends, I focus on quality and potential longevity, and I only buy things that fit my personal style-- which will probably remain relatively unchanged for quite some time. I would say I am satisfied with 95% of all things that I buy. 本当に。

So here we go, Jean Ren's decadent Tokyo super shopping adventures! Are you EXCITED?!?! =O!!!!

While it may seem at times like an appalling amount of excess (and okay, maybe it is....but that's not the pointtt....), keep in mind that the accumulation of all these items thus far in Japan has been done over a 2.5 month period, so this is a whole 10 weeks worth of sporadic mildly mediated shopaholism you're seeing!

Hello everyone! This is my first post....I don't really know quite what to say haha. I guess this blog will just be a space for me to ramble about things I love: fashion, makeup, Japan,

~~porn~~ art, anything visual kei indies music-related, that kind of stuff.　
But um, yeah I'm basically counting down the days until I go to Tokyo on March 23. Right now I'm staying at my dad's place in Tianjin, China updating twitter, facebook, and everything else constituting my virtual life through a shady proxy site. Ho hum. I will be probably be posting a few blurbs here and there about my antics, but please don't take them as a representation of this blog if they bore you out of your mind. There will be exciting times and hot summer days in Tokyo to come, I promise!!!! Yes....I hope? T_T
